About

Larry Young graduated from Dartmouth College where he majored in music and studied violin with Andrew Jennings and music history with Charles Hamm. He studied violin pedagogy at Longy School of Music with Wolfgang Schocken and improvisation at the Berklee School of Music.

Performing on violin, viola, cittern and voice, Mr. Young takes great delight in bringing the past alive with his costumed performances of music from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. He is also an accomplished lecturer who uses intriguing and humorous facts and anecdotes to provide what he calls historical "edu-tainment."

I can’t thank you enough for Poor Richard’s Penny’s extraordinary performance at the Revere House last weekend! The lively period songs and melodies you play delighted our visitors!Your voices harmonize perfectly. And the details you share with each piece provide fascinating insight into life in early New England. Not only are you skilled performers, you also look the part of itinerant entertainers! Your colonial costumes are perfect down to the button and ribbon.I look forward to inviting you back to the Revere House frequently. Thanks again!
